Friends of Redditch Railway

Friends of Redditch Railway is dedicated to making our station a vibrant and attractive place to depart, arrive or simply wait.

We want to create a sense of community inclusion, where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to make a positive difference to their community and forge lasting friendships.

OUR ETHOS.

We believe in adding value to communities. This can have benefits, such as encouraging use of the railway and breaking down barriers to sustainable travel, and helping to reduce vandalism.

As well as engaging people in volunteering, bringing people together and creating pride in our station and community, these groups play a critical role in making their stations welcoming, pleasant and attractive places.

Our work could extend beyond basic upkeep, incorporating community gardening and food growing, local arts projects, and workshops for all.

We want to work with councils and community groups to bring that sense of pride our station with is the gateway to our town, so please do get in touch.

Community Value

Bringing people together. Creating a sense of community inclusion, where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to make a positive difference to their community and forge lasting friendships.

Promoting Sustainable Travel

Consider the most sustainable form of transport to get to your destination. Taking the train or bus can often the more sustainable option over flying or driving by car.

Improving Place

We want everyone to have the right to live and work in places they can be proud of and prosper in. Colourful, clean enjoyable stations and places we can all use and enjoy. We can achieve this by working together.

More about #StationAdoption in Redditch.

Station adoption has been one of the many successes of the community rail movement.

More than 1,000 adoption groups have been formed nationwide. As well as engaging thousands of people in volunteering, bringing people together and creating pride in station and community, these groups play a critical role in making their stations welcoming, pleasant and attractive places.

Our work may extend beyond basic upkeep, incorporating community gardening and food growing, local arts projects, and workshops and visits with children and young people.

We all want stronger, healthier, cleaner communities and together we can achieve better, longer lasting results while making friends and having a good time.
